Providence Health & Services Manager of Chart Processing and Deficiency Analysis in Olympia, Washington


Providence is calling a Manager of On-Site Chart Processing and Deficiency Analysis to St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA and Providence Hospital Centralia WA.

The Manager of Chart Processing and Deficiency Analysis is accountable for the implementation, operations, and optimization of the Revenue Cycle Chart Processing, Deficiency Analysis, Scanning (acute and clinic), and Storefront services at both facilities.

In this position you will:

  • Manage Chart Processing, Chart Scanning (hospital), Deficiency Analysis (hospital only); incomplete medical record functions and staff.

  • Manage facility Health Information Management (HIM) Storefront functions which include a variety of customer-service, and release of information processes.

  • Manage Chart Scanning, Deficiency Analysis, and Storefront staff including ensuring adequate staffing coverage, training, and adherence to consistent quality and productivity standards.

  • Oversee daily operations including relevant workflows.

  • Represent ORC and HIM on related organizational initiatives.

  • Ensure standardized HIM policies, procedures, and practices are followed related to Chart Processing / Storage / Retention / Destruction, Chart Scanning, Storefronts and Deficiency Analysis.

  • Have operational responsibility of all departmental budgets within leadership scope including, monitoring, cost approval, reconciliation of expenditures and discrepancies.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.

  • 3 years of Health Information Management experience.

  • Strong EMR proficiency.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Healthcare related bachelor's degree.

  • RHIT / RHIA certification.

  • Chart Scanning experience.
