Providence Health & Services Provider Coding Educator in Everett, Washington
Providence is calling a Provider Coding Educator (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Medical Group - in Everett, WA.
The Provider Coding Educator performs highly complex and detailed coding education and auditing and will serve as a liaison between providers and the Coding and Compliance team in WA/MT.
In this position you will:
Demonstrated management skills and ability to work effectively to build relationships with colleagues, customers, and executive management through positive interaction
Develops educational programs for providers based on audit findings, as well as general education of coding, documentation guidelines, reimbursement rules and regulations
Creates and presents customized coding training and initial audit/review for new physicians/providers
Provides classroom and individual education to clinic managers, support staff, and others as requested
Assists the Business Services Manager with developing and maintaining department policies and procedures
Take responsibility to support team members in meeting project milestones and objectives (even when team members or milestones are not their direct responsibility)
Travels to clinic locations to build relationships and support providers and clinic leadership
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Seven years progressively responsible health care experience in a multi-specialty physician group practice
Extensive experience with CPT, ICD-9, and HCPC's coding
Current CPC or CCS-P
Current Coding Auditor credentials (ACS E/M, CEMC, CPMA or equivalent)
At least one current Certification in Specialty coding (i.e. CGSC, CIRCC, COBGC, CCC, COSC)
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Eight or more years progressively responsible health care experience in a multi-specialty physician group practice with extensive experience
